I thought was doing well at the marketing thing, until a client finished up an email discussion about the social media profiles with the 'only' question...
"how do people find us who may be looking for our type of products?" Apart from making me doubt myself and what I have been doing for them for the last three years, I think it raises an important point. Actually it's the only point. That's what marketing should be - helping people interested in your products find you. But why is this so hard for people to grasp? I think you can get so carried away by the many marketing channels, especially when areas like social media and digital marketing move so quickly, you forget the point of it in the first place. It's not how many likes, but how relevant the people you like you are to your business.
